About David
Prior to becoming a private tutor, I worked for Explore Learning's Crawley branch. I did this between mid-2015 and late-2016, and quit so that I could work more flexible hours to fit around my study.
As a private tutor, I have currently tutored nine pupils, ranging from a child in Year 3 to an adult studying for an ncfe Functional Skills exam! Most of these have not yet taken their formal qualifications, but those who have (including two SATs pupils) reached their targets.

I am an A Level-qualified English and Maths tutor, currently in my first year of Philosophy at King's College London. I attained 3 A Levels of Grade A and above, including in English Literature, and have over two years' experience tutoring English and Mathematics to 5-15 year-olds, both on a hired and freelance basis (references can be provided by past clients).
I begin teaching by first meeting with a pupil for a free trial session. In this session, I will conduct an assessment and observe how the pupil responds to the questions I have given them, so that I can adopt an appropriate teaching style when I begin tuition (e.g. visual, auditory or kinesthetic). This is not a lesson, but a chance to meet the pupil (often as well as their parent). Generally, I find that pupils - particularly (but not exclusively) younger pupils - enjoy a lively, dynamic and free-flowing style of learning, which is often not offered to them in school due to time constraints.
Following the free session, I will hope to give customers a better idea of what to expect, at which point they can make a decision of whether or not to continue learning with me.
Recommendations
Recommendations are written by the tutor's friends, family, and acquaintances.
Having known David all his life, seeing him grow up and watch his progress through his schooling, I am in no doubt that he is a trustworthy and very capable young man. So much so, I've had David tutoring my son for some months now and I'm very happy with my sons progress. His feed back is always clear and informative, explaining what they have been working on and what they will be working on in the fooling weeks. I would be very happy to recommend David as a tutor.
