About Zed
I’m a Year 13 Sixth Form student in the UK (Cambridge, more specifically) studying the 4 A-level subjects stated in the title, who’s an aspiring engineer. I’ve tutored Maths and Chemistry online to a GCSE student that I know, and have helped my homeschooled siblings to understand scientific subjects better where they struggled, and have taught them entire topics from scratch... So, I know that teaching is something I love to do! My favourite thing is those moments where I hit on an explanation or example that suddenly clicks open a window of clarity for my student — when their face lights up and they go “Ohhhhh!” and they excitedly start explaining to me what the next step is!

I am engaging, patient and get my tutees as actively involved as possible by getting them to work through questions interactively after I’ve been through a similar example and talking them through it if necessary, explaining until they’re fully satisfied with their understanding (and so am I!).
My lessons will be client-lead in the sense that I will focus on my student’s particular weaknesses and follow whatever order you wish me to in terms of topics in the syllabus. I’m happy to provide more structure if you wish, though — following the order of topics in a textbook or revision guide, say, and providing regular *homework and feedback*. I will also point you to the best online resources that I know of to support my teaching and your learning.
You don’t practice til you get it right... you practice til you can’t get it wrong! I hope to inspire as well as instruct by proving to my student what they’re capable of even if they lack confidence in their abilities — all it takes is a thorough grounding in the basics (which I will be very keen to help you obtain if need be), a willingness to make mistakes (that’s how your brain learns the fastest), and drilling on the same type of questions over and over (working at the edge of your ability; once that gets too easy, you step it up a notch)... and so you smash your studies and your exams!

I won’t charge extra to tutor two siblings (or any two students) together in the same sessions and am willing to consider sibling discounts if tutored separately (e.g. for different subjects or courses).
