About Gi

Hello! I've been teaching drawing and illustration for over a decade. After receiving mentorship and earning a degree in cartoon animation under the mentorship of professionals from the Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, respectively, I taught privately in France, in Hong Kong and in the United States for ten years while pursuing other career objectives. I recently started holding private classes in London, where I live, and I'm excited to meet new students.

About the lesson

Goals-based, tailored classes - whether you are looking to make a portfolio for the illustration, animation or gaming industries, to develop a personal project or just to have fun learning the fundamentals.

Fit for any level. You will learn how to use shapes, perspectives, character and environment design, anatomy, composition, painting basics and more; the tools and the pace at which you master them are flexible.

My objective during our courses is to help you develop the skills you strive for over time, no matter what they are.

Standard price: £35/hour, with discounts available for students, young children and low-income households. Most students contact me for online lessons, but in-person lessons can be arranged on demand in West and Central London. Groups are welcome!

Perfect! Excellent lesson. Gi provided an exceptional first drawing lesson, explaining theoretical concepts, modelling techniques and guiding practice in a well sequenced structure. Within this, his reassurance and checking in creates a really safe creative environment.

Perfect! I took a drawing class with Grégoire, who helped me understand how to approach 3D space and volume on paper (I don’t have a tablet) in a simple way suited to my beginner level. I grasped the concepts well and am excited to continue with him to make further progress, as the class was very enjoyable and relaxed, even online. After learning about silhouettes, I’m looking forward to moving on to anatomy!
