About Heather

I am a UK native English speaker with a neutral accent. I am a qualified lawyer and also have degrees in Modern Language Studies (French and Spanish) and General Humanities. Having previously tutored individuals in English, I have found that my real passion lies in conversation practice. As someone who has learnt foreign languages, I know that the conversation element of some traditional English courses can be lacking and I understand how important it is to put what you've learnt on paper into practice. Some people simply would like to be immersed in English conversation to help them improve their speaking skills without pressure or judgement, and this is where I come in!

About the lesson

Unlike traditional English classes that have set curricula, my classes are purely conversational. We will talk about a range of topics (for 1:1 classes we can discuss any topic you wish) and I will help you to improve the flow of your English whilst helping you speak more like a native. I will help you with any difficulties and will correct any errors in a completely non-judgemental and encouraging way. As a follow up I can provide a list of words, phrases and/or sample conversations to help you practise and for 1:1 classes I will send notes of any errors and corrections made during the session. As these are conversation practice classes a basic level of English is required. Topics can include: - General day-to-day English - English for business (including interview preparation) - English for travel - Sports - Music - Art and Culture - Current Affairs - English grammar - Speaking exam practice All classes are held online unless otherwise requested. My classes are relaxed and are intended to be enjoyable yet helpful. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
