About Erina

Hi! こんにちは！
I am Erina, a native Japanese teacher regularly tutoring adult learners via online Skype lessons. My home town is Tokyo, where I was teaching Japanese. I've been teaching Japanese for 5 years for beginners and lower intermediate (JLPT N5 to N4). I can also offer conversation practice for upper intermediate to advance levels. I'm very patient and enthusiastic teacher who tailors each lesson for the individual depending on the students interests and goals.

About the lesson

I mainly use a text book called Genki in my lessons which covers reading, writing, speaking and listening. The most difficult areas of Japanese language learning tends to be reading and writing, but I would like focus more towards listening and speaking. Although you need to know the Japanese alphabets of Hiragana and Katakana to be able to understand accurate pronunciations, isn't it more fun and motivated if you would be able to pick up some Japanese thorough movie, anime and songs you like!

Don't worry if you don't know about Hiragana and Katakana, I can start to teach from alphabets. I can offer free Hiragana and Katakana practice book PDFs for the first lesson, if needed.

Tutoring Approach:

Genki 1 and 2 are the main text books

This lesson is suitable for beginners to lower intermediate level.

If you want upper level, conversation lessons are also available.

Please contact me if you are interested in learning Japanese or if you have any questions. Read less

Erina is a fantastic tutor and I’d absolutely recommend her, both for structured Japanese lessons and for conversation practice. She’s enthusiastic, engaging and flexible, and has really built my confidence in speaking Japanese. I could not recommend her more!

Erina puts a lot of effort into her lessons and is always well-prepared. They're always interactive and the way that she sets homework helps to make sure that I don't forget anything throughout the week!
