About Lexi

I am a Full-Time Art Teacher. I have been teaching at a Private Art School in Toronto for 7 years and I give private art lessons. I went to College in 2018 for Cartooning and Animation. I graduated in 2019 and I have been working since!

When I was in high school, I went to a Visual Arts Highschool. I had the same Art Teacher for 4 years and she would make everyone in the class make the exact same thing while focusing on everything being perfect. I promised myself at that time to create an environment for Artists where they can learn, express themselves creatively, and fully enjoy the process of making art. I believe I have fulfilled that promise in my Art Classes and Lessons.

About the lesson

My lessons include creating Artwork inspired by things we haven't seen before. For example, aliens, mermaids, monsters, and unicorns to name a few. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I encourage my students to be as creative as possible. When I worked as an Art Teacher for a class of 14 Students ages 12-14, even though every student followed the lesson plan, everyones artwork looked completely different. My private lessons are custom made for each student after a quick and free consultation. My teaching methodology includes creative exercises to increase originality and intricacy. A typical lesson plan will include learning a technique (for example: shading, cross hatching, blending watercolours), doing a creativity boosting exercise (for example: drawing a face upside down in 5 minutes), then creating an art piece that incorporates both the learned technique and creative expression.
