About Jake
Since graduating, I have also been practising as a freelance illustrator, with many and varied commissions and successes in the field. I have created animations for Medical Humanities and the Literary Platform. The illustrations for the University’s own commemorative anniversary book (that was nominated for the VC’s Enterprise Award for Creative Initiative). I have created comic artwork that was long-listed for the British Comic Awards, and requested by the Victoria and Albert museum. I was also selected by the AOI as a New Talent for their Images 36 publication.I have held lectures, and been into schools to demonstrate illustration. Having practiced so fully and so recently in the creative and business environments, I will be able to share a wide range of current, first-hand experiences.

After attaining a First Class honours degree in (BA) Design Illustration, I have had much experience in the field (as detailed below). I have also lectured at the university, teaching medical humanities to junior doctors, in the form of presentational displays of semiotic driven narratives, along with comicbooks based on experiences within their academic and vocational work.
