About Richard

I have been drawing for over 30 plus years and have been working at industry level for 15 years. I have a first class degree in Illustration. My knowledge on character design, form and anatomy is of a high level.

I am currently working as Lead illustrator for the youtube channel, 'Fire in the Spoof'.

I strive to make each of my illustrations unique, combining traditional knowledge and digital techniques to create memorable and timeless pieces of art. I'm always looking for new ways to express my creative vision and make a lasting impression on my audience.

Since my uni days, as a mature student, i've always had a passion for teaching and sharing my years of illustration knowledge. I have a wealth of life experience which has only aided me in crafting my personal voice and ability to educate.

About the lesson

I specialise in 2D digital art, character design, animation character rigging. I am a versatile illustrator, able to teach in a variety of visual styles. I predominately use an iPad and Procreate to work on as well as Photoshop on the Mac/PC. I also draw freehand for fun and when required for a work.

My aim with each lesson will vary depending on your experience level. From helping you to understand the fundamentals, to how your work communicates through your personal voice. I have a patient and laid back approach with excellent communication skills. I fluent in english.

I have taught all walks of life, ages and ability levels, including, children, students and adults. I also have have a background supporting and working with adults with autism and learning disabilities.

With each lesson, my goal is for you to take away a new skill, thought process or an increased level of knowledge on your desired subject. I have many years of creative experience and would love to be able to share this with you.

Classes will be taught over video chat from your home. Each lesson will be a minimum of 1 hour. Homework tasks will also be available.
