I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. This qualification has given me a general overview of how to identify misconceptions children have in learning the concepts and, methods to devise different ways to deal with it. Also, employing different ways of representing the same knowledge because, there are more than one way in the teaching and learning experience.
In addition, I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Education (Inclusion and Special Education Needs). With this qualification, I am well equipped to devise, implement and evaluate systems for identifying, assessing and reviewing students' special education needs. I ensure children have conceptual knowledge which will help them make progress.
Also, I do have a Master degree in Special Education Needs. This has further foster my understanding of children with specific learning needs and how to ensure that their learning objectives are met.
Thus, my university and work experience have created in me an enthusiasm to develop an environment for learning, that would make a huge impact in the lives of all children by using my skills and experiences to help them develop to their full potential for learning.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked in the educational sector both in the UK and overseas. I teach children of primary and secondary school age in both mainstream and special schools. I teach Mathematics, English and Science.
I use the Teacch, Pecs and Makaton to teach individuals whom I support as a small group and on one to one. I recently completed a Makaton training for professionals.
I am conversant with the educational curriculum.
Tutoring Approach:
I employ personalised teaching technique that is tailored to meet the need of the individual child.
Personal Qualities:
I have a good sense of humour, reflective and do have a good working relationship with students.
I do have good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to motivate children to achieve their highest potential.
My passion about helping children of all ages and abilities to learn have always added value because, I aim to satisfy the academic needs of each child.
