About Joseph
Hi, I'm Joseph and I have just finished the IB and have loved studying History for the past 5 years. Not only did I achieve strong grades, which have permitted me to attend Durham University, but I learnt a lot about thinking critically and approaching History essays from a perspective other than "I must cram all the facts I know onto this sheet of A4". Outside of academics, I enjoy competitive sports and coaching tennis to children of all ages, nationalities, and abilities. I love working with people to help them become more confident and achieve results, both on the sports field (or court) and in their exam subjects.

-Having just finished IB History, revision techniques and historical knowledge are at the tips of my fingers. My lessons revolve around the student. I offer lecture-based tutoring, discussions (which I have found are the best way to learn and find excitement in studying), exam technique advice, essay writing tips, and much more. - Lessons last an hour, any longer and I feel that productivity decreases. - First and foremost I am extremely passionate about History, enough to study it for the next 3 years at Durham University. I have studied History for 5 years, at GCSE and IB, achieving top grades in both public exams. I have experience discussing content and teaching as I previously volunteered as a History and languages teacher to refugees via Zoom for a two year period. - Although it can be tempting to become fixated on exams, I try to keep my lessons interesting and focused, striving to develop analytical capacity - an asset that quality History essays rely on. - My lessons are for all students up to, and including, A-level, IB or equivalent.
