About Emily
Hi, I’m Emily! I’m an experienced Humanities and Social Sciences and English teacher with over seven years of teaching experience, and I’m currently studying a Juris Doctor.
I love exploring how history shapes our world—from political movements and changing social attitudes to the ongoing struggle for rights and freedoms. I enjoy helping students make these connections and develop their own informed perspectives.
My teaching style is warm, patient, and encouraging. I create a supportive space where students can ask questions, explore ideas, and feel comfortable making mistakes. With my background in both Humanities and English, I can help you understand historical content and communicate your knowledge through clear, convincing writing.
My aim is to help you feel capable, curious, and confident in your learning.

Modern History is about understanding the people, ideas and events that have shaped our world. My lessons help students connect the bigger picture with the evidence and analytical skills needed to succeed.
Drawing on over seven years of teaching experience in Humanities and Social Sciences and English, I make complex topics accessible through clear explanations, engaging discussion and step-by-step guidance. Lessons are tailored to your year level, curriculum and goals, whether you need help understanding content, preparing for exams or improving your essays.
Together, we can develop your skills in:
Analysing historical sources, perspectives, usefulness and reliability.
Explaining cause and effect, continuity and change, and historical significance.
Building persuasive arguments supported by historical evidence.
Planning and writing well-structured essays and source responses.
Creating effective revision notes and tackling timed assessments.
My approach is patient, encouraging and structured. Through modelling, guided practice and constructive feedback, I help you build confidence, think independently and explain your ideas with clarity.
