About Taylor
I am a college graduate with a diverse background. I specialize in research, analysis, writing, and notation. I wrote my thesis on historical memory and historical legacy, in regards to Lost Cause ideology in the South and the restoration of Confederate imagery. I believe the study of history is in many ways the study of "how we got here and why the world is this way."

I recoil at the traditional teaching of history, and I can't stand it when I hear people say that "history is just memorizing dates" or it's "just the study of dead people." History is, in my opinion, the most important topic one can study when trying to understand the modern world and its complexities, and is hands down the most important topic to study when trying to understand the best ways to operate as a citizen within a democracy. I strive to teach my students the connectivity in history, the continuity in history that affects our modern world, and to better understand the correlations and relationships between historical events and modern events.
