About Hamna
I have read and learned many things-but the most important of all those things is my mistakes. I personally cannot imagine myself without the mistakes I have made in the past, as they have led me to potential and acceptance today. I see those who are potentially "better" than me in terms of academics, but I have learned that I will lose valuable aspects of myself while chasing others' goals to become the best of all. These ideas are what have allowed me to become not the best of all, but of me. I myself got tutoring lessons to become a better version of myself rather than a person I do not want to live the rest of my life as. Help is the most valuable thing that I have ever been given-and I would love to further pass on that value to others, to make everyone grow into something they are proud to be. I may not be perfect, but what I have learned from back-to-back failures is what serves me as one of the best students in my math class today.

Students usually struggle with one of the most brain-twisting subjects ever-math. As a former elementary school student, this is highly understandable; the frustration and confusing numbers just go everywhere! But as a learning student as well, I believe that it is my duty to pass on what I have learned and what I have been given. Now, methods and techniques matter a lot! A child will confuse itself through unclear explanations-even with chatGPT. What do I do? Well, to start, a simple "explanation" has never helped an average student much in terms of mathematics. Students need to be taught through real life situations and be able to redo different versions of the problem over and over again. So in this case, I bring in realistic topics that match accordingly to the student's interest, and incorporate that topic for the student to view the situation differently rather than just black ink on a piece of paper. This way, the student is able to apply the learned skill more effectively instead of just answer the question. The main goal I have personally learned is to fall in love with it- it has taught me to truly test myself upon what my will allows me to do-and that idea will keep you going without that ongoing "frustration". An example of how a normal session with your child would go with me is first of all, me telling the student to do the problem/s themselves. Yes-I am a tutor, shouldn't I be helping first? The real answer to that is that a student and the tutor should first of all be sure of what the student is capable of doing themselves, then comes what the mistakes are that need to be fixed. This way, they can feel assured upon themselves and gain a potential to ease their way to mastering the problem. Furthermore, when a child is taught over and over again but still misinterprets a problem, a very common thing, the best method here is to go easy. Most students craze themselves trying to get the answer, but really, they just need a break that will exercise their mind upon past topics and let it become ready for more. So as this as a typical plan, what students can be taught with me? I never teach what I have even little misunderstanding of, so as for my strong background in elementary mathematics, I am able to teach the aspects of it to further elementary students. And lastly, why me? Well, I believe that the best of students comes from the mistakes-I have made many mistakes in math that have led me to AP and Honors recommendations for math classes today. Everything is achievable, and if it was for me, where I was lost for everything, then it is for anyone.
