About Marianne

I have over 20 years’ experience teaching EFL, English and French in several countries and to a range of ages, levels and nationalities. My experience ranges from mainstream education (Years 5-13), private language schools (children, teenagers and adult groups) to individual private tuition (professional adults, secondary and post-secondary students). I have successfully coached students in French up to A-level and for DELF A1 and A2 exams and in EFL for Cambridge KET, PET and FCE exams with a 100% pass rate. Since obtaining my Master’s, I have been involved in post-graduate MFL teacher training, specialising in methodology, and currently lecture in the French language at university and in Adult Education. I use my skills and experience to engage and motivate students and help them realise their full potential. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

About the lesson

Hello! Do you need to boost your grades, increase your confidence and learn to communicate effectively in English? If so, I would love to help! I am a highly experienced teacher with two language teaching qualifications (PGCE and CELTA). A British native English speaker, I also have a BA and an MA in French. Together with my training and experience, I have found that the strategies and knowledge I acquired learning French have given me extra insight into successful language learning. I am patient, encouraging and very enthusiastic, and my students often say that my help has made all the difference in achieving better grades. I work hard at building a positive rapport with students so that we can focus together on attaining their personal learning goals. We'll discuss these in detail in the first lesson and then each lesson will be individually tailored to your needs. I use a range of practice activities to build up confidence communicating in the language and boost grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation skills. I will also share useful tips and strategies to improve your performance. Above all, I like to challenge students to achieve their best but also to have some fun in the process!
