Hello! My name is Olivia, and thank you for considering me as your tutor/teacher!

I am currently in high school, so I understand what it's like to be learning in a classroom for hours and not understanding the content. So, my lessons are filled with fun activities and games for you to have fun while still learning!

Hello!

How I teach revolves around making reading and writing an enjoyable, stress-free experience for young learners. Because elementary-aged children learn best when they are genuinely engaged, I avoid dry worksheets and lecturing. Instead, I use interactive methods like digital storytelling, phonics games, and collaborative writing.

Patience is at the heart of everything I do. I understand that every child learns at their own pace, so I constantly adapt my tone, praise small victories, and use positive reinforcement to build their confidence.

What sets these lessons apart is the unique bridge I build between being an academic role model and an approachable peer. I am a Principal Honor Roll student maintaining a 3.9 unweighted and a 5.0 weighted GPA, and I am an active member of the National English Honor Society. This means I bring a deep, proven mastery of the English language to every session. However, because I am still a student myself, I lack the intimidating aura of a traditional classroom teacher. I know exactly how to communicate with kids on their level, turning schoolwork into a fun activity they look forward to rather than a chore.

These online lessons are custom-designed for elementary school students in grades K-5. I specialize in helping young learners who need to build foundational reading and phonics skills, want to improve their spelling and grammar, struggle with reading comprehension, or just need to build general academic confidence in a supportive environment.

To keep young minds focused, a typical 60-minute lesson is fast-paced, structured, and split into three engaging segments:
• The Warm-Up (10 Mins): We start with a fun, interactive vocabulary or spelling game to wake up the brain and review past concepts.
• The Core Activity (35 Mins): We dive into the main goal, such as reading an age-appropriate book together where we practice pronunciation, or working step-by-step on a creative writing exercise using a shared Google Doc.
• The Wrap-Up & Game (15 Mins): We play a quick, educational wrap-up game to reinforce what was learned, followed by a brief progress update for the student.
