About Molly
I am a high school English teacher in the Chicago area, as well as a creative writer currently working toward publishing my first book. I regularly perform live readings, which has shaped my approach to language as something meant to be heard, felt, and communicated with purpose. I view English not just as an academic subject, but as a life skill and a form of artful expression.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have participated in a research fellowship, where I developed skills in critical analysis, academic writing, and working with complex texts. This experience informs how I support students with research papers, literary analysis, and higher-level thinking, helping them move beyond surface-level responses to more thoughtful, well-supported ideas.
As a teacher, I focus on building strong relationships with students and creating a space where they feel comfortable taking risks in their thinking and writing. I have experience working with a wide range of learners, and I tailor my approach to meet each student’s needs—whether that means strengthening foundational reading and writing skills, preparing for standardized tests, or refining advanced analytical and creative work.
My goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to help them become more confident, independent thinkers and writers. I want students to leave sessions with practical strategies, a stronger sense of voice, and the ability to approach English with both skill and creativity.

My lessons are student-centered, structured, and interactive. I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals, then design sessions that meet their needs and expectations.
I prioritize active learning where students engage directly with texts, practice writing, and talk through their thinking so they can build confidence and independence. I break skills like reading comprehension and essay writing into clear, manageable steps, while still challenging students to think critically.
My goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to give them strategies they can use on their own in class and beyond.
