About Benton
Having not been the greatest student in high-school, my advisors suggested pursuing a more reasonable degree rather than pre-medical studies. I've worked hard, and have even been tutored in some of the courses that I teach now. Currently, I am the Teacher's Assistant for Biology at my college, I have tutored for a full year, and I have a perfect GPA through two years of college. What you should know about me is that I am not the smartest person you'll meet being tutored, but I understand your perspective as someone who has been in your shoes. I know what it's like to stare blankly at objectives and not know how to effectively get that information in your brain. I've learned how to do so, and how to connect with people in a way that not many tutors can.

My teaching method is simple, yet highly effective. I treat the things I have learned as stories or movies that have characters and plots. I firmly believe that you cannot learn something if it doesn't completely resonate with you. Rather than walk through something with big words and processes that mean nothing to someone who is just starting to learn something, I instead figuratively "draw a picture" and simplify the goals of learning into something anyone could digest. The key to this is to keep it simple! Details that are not necessary for success in a course are completely left out of my lessons.
I learned this method through my experience of being tutored in the same classes that I now excel in.
