About Manan
I am a dedicated and high-achieving STEM student with a strong academic background in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. My commitment to excellence is reflected in both my academic achievements and leadership recognitions. I was honored to be selected as Valedictorian, an achievement that represents consistent academic performance, strong communication skills, and the ability to inspire and lead my peers.
Beyond academics, I currently serve as a Master Warrant Officer in the Royal Canadian Army Cadets, where I have earned several distinctions, including a 4-Year Service Medal, a Senior Leadership Award, a First Aid Badge, and an Expedition Team Leader Badge. These awards highlight my discipline, reliability, leadership, and dedication to helping others grow and succeed.
I also have extensive experience mentoring peers, leading workshops, and supporting students in structured learning environments. As a tutor, my approach is centred on clarity, confidence-building, and true understanding rather than memorization. I believe students perform best when they feel comfortable asking questions, so I create a supportive and non-judgmental learning environment where no question is “too basic.” My teaching methodology focuses on breaking complex concepts into simple, step-by-step explanations, using real-life examples, visual diagrams, and guided practice to make difficult topics easier to grasp. I also emphasize active learning, meaning students solve problems alongside me rather than just watching solutions.
A typical lesson with me usually starts with a quick check-in to review previous material and identify any areas of confusion. Then, I introduce the main concept in a clear and structured way, followed by worked examples that demonstrate how to apply the concept. After that, students practice with progressively challenging questions while I provide guidance, tips, and exam strategies. Each session ends with a short recap, personalized feedback, and suggestions for independent practice to reinforce learning.
