About Reece

I have been interested by human anatomy since I was a child, drawn to the incredible complexity of the human body and the ways we can positively impact others through understanding it. With both my parents being teachers, and my brother struggling with dyslexia, I grew up around diverse teaching approaches, making education feel like second nature to me. Teaching allows me to combine my passion for anatomy and physiology with my empathy and desire to help others. I find it incredibly rewarding to help students find that "aha" moment when everything clicks. Seeing my students understand and grow is what drives my love for teaching.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring focuses on understanding individual student needs, strengths, and learning styles. I break down complex concepts into simple, understandable terms and use practical examples to help with comprehension. For anatomy and physiology, I often use diagrams, videos, and interactive resources to help students visualise structures and processes. For exercise prescription and physical education, I incorporate real world applications and hands-on activities where possible.

I encourage active learning through discussion, problem-solving, and practice questions to ensure students develop the correct application of their knowledge. I also provide resources, including notes, flashcards, and practice quizzes, to help key concepts.

Typical Length of a Lesson
Lessons typically last 1 hour, though this can be adjusted depending on the student's needs.

Who the Lessons Are For
I tutor:

NCEA Level 1–3 students (ages 14–18) studying Health Science, Biology, or Physical Education.
or First year university students who need support in anatomy, physiology, or related health science courses.
Lessons are developed to suit beginners who need foundational understanding or more advanced students looking to excel in their studies. I offer both in-person tutoring in North Shore, Auckland and online sessions.
