About Daniel

Daniel here, I have always been passionate about music because it's one of those things in life that gets better as we age. My goal is to be the one that makes you understand how music theory works. This is my way of trying to build up my portfolio so I can be skilled/experienced enough to teach people at a University/College level. I'm 24, and one of the biggest things I failed to realize is the importance of theory. Over the years I focused on my technique more than theory, and that is why most intermediate players spend 5-10 years in that phase where they realize they are stuck because neglecting theory. A child can copy the sound coming out of their parent's mouth. But a good parent teaches their child how the alphabet works so the child can use their mind to come up with words to give themselves more of an independence from simply copying.

Theory is what makes you versatile. When you know theory, you can follow note for note what someone plays just by watching their finger. If someone wants to sing at a lower key, say from G to F, someone that knows music theory can figure out the Root, 3rd & 5th instantaneously to come up with the respective major scale or pentatonic scale. You don't need to be a machine to memorize these things. You need CLEVER EXERCISES that trick the mind.

I will be primarily focusing on two key areas: Music Theory and Memorizing all notes/patterns. I will be using a technique called 'Mind Palace' which will utilize Mnemonics.

Lesson Highlights:

Understanding scales {Major, Minor, Mixolydian, Lydian, etc.}
Understanding how to construct chords {7ths, 9ths, 11ths, 13ths, etc.}
Understanding intervals {R, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc.}
Finding Triads in all 6 strings
Connecting scales and chords {For Soloing and Improvising}

Memorizing Patterns:
Mind Palace Technique
Mnemonics on 3rd,5th,7th,9th frets

Why Join?

It's free dude. If music is your passion, and you feel stuck, I can probably bring in new ideas and exercises. Also, I want to make this my 'Ikigai'. Seasons change but chords stay the same. (mostly!)
