About Rhea
My passion for guitar began at the age of thirteen, when I discovered how music could express what words could not. Over eight years of teaching, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students toward discovering that same joy. I focus on creating lessons that balance structure with spontaneity, encouraging learners to explore technique, creativity, and performance. My teaching style blends practical skill-building with expressive artistry. I tailor each lesson to the student’s genre preferences—whether classical, rock, or acoustic—and incorporate both technical drills and creative improvisation. My approach prioritizes encouragement, reflection, and musical curiosity, helping learners grow with both confidence and artistry. Outside of teaching, I perform, compose, and collaborate with fellow musicians. These real-world experiences inform my lessons, connecting students to the living, evolving world of music. For me, teaching guitar is about empowerment—helping each learner transform curiosity into mastery, and passion into performance.

The guitar is one of the most versatile instruments—an expressive medium that connects rhythm, melody, and emotion. My lessons begin with a balance of foundational technique and creative exploration. Students learn posture, chord transitions, rhythm patterns, and basic reading skills before progressing to complex fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, and performance preparation.
Beginners start with open chords, strumming, and simple melodies to establish rhythm and hand coordination. Intermediate students dive into barre chords, scales, and harmony, while advanced learners explore improvisation, music theory, and performance refinement. Lessons also include ear training, sight-reading, and composition to create a comprehensive musical education.
Yet beyond technique, guitar lessons emphasize self-expression and connection. I encourage students to interpret pieces through their own artistic voice, building confidence and emotional awareness. Whether preparing for performances, writing songs, or simply exploring sound, learners develop the discipline and creativity to express themselves fluently through their instrument.
