About Calia
My journey with guitar began with a fascination for how music could express emotion through rhythm and tone. Over eight years of teaching, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students through their own creative paths, watching them gain skills, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for music. Teaching has allowed me to share not only technical knowledge but also the excitement and emotional connection that guitar can bring to daily life. My teaching style is encouraging, patient, and adaptable. I believe that each student brings a unique set of strengths, preferences, and artistic interests, so I shape lessons around their personal goals. I focus on building a comfortable learning environment where students feel supported as they explore new techniques and make steady progress. I celebrate growth, encourage curiosity, and help learners develop both discipline and artistic freedom in their playing. Outside of teaching, I continue to perform, write music, collaborate with other musicians, and study new techniques. These experiences keep my lessons fresh, inspiring, and aligned with real-world musicianship. Helping students grow into confident guitarists who enjoy their music is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.

My guitar lessons provide a supportive, engaging space where students can explore music while developing solid technical foundations. Each lesson begins with gentle warmups designed to build flexibility, rhythm awareness, and finger strength. I guide learners through songs, exercises, and musical concepts that match both their level and personal interests, ensuring that learning feels inspiring rather than overwhelming. I combine structured technique with creative play, helping students understand how chords, rhythm, and melody work together while giving them room to discover their own musical style.
Lessons support learners at all stages. Beginners start with essential chords, strumming patterns, comfortable hand positioning, basic rhythms, and simple songs. Intermediate players learn barre chords, scales, fingerpicking, rhythm variations, expressive phrasing, and stylistic techniques. Advanced students explore improvisation, complex repertoire, performance preparation, theory application, and personal artistry. Activities include guided practice routines, ear-training exercises, chord progressions, repertoire building, and creative projects such as songwriting or arranging. I also support students preparing for band rehearsals, school performances, or recording projects.
Students develop confidence, musical independence, and expressive skill. Many go on to perform, write original music, or play comfortably in personal and social settings. My goal is to help each learner experience guitar as both a craft and a joyful form of creative expression.
