About Anika
I have my Associate's Degree in Graphic Design from De Anza and am actively pursuing my Bachelor's in Graphic Design. I have collaborated with musicians to create album art covers and have a long history of being self-taught and drawing with friends.
Currently a project lead in UX/UI design for a gaming company, I work alongside artists and developers to make the game come to life.
I am a person with many interests, one being Jiu Jitsu. Coaching children has definitely been a learning experience; but also very joyful and engaging! Being neurodivergent has also made me incredibly passionate about mental health and how that impacts the way we convey and express ourselves. I strongly believe that we all have a story inside that we should share with the world, in one way or another.
I hope with my experience as a neurodivergent artist, I will be able to assist the student in believing in themselves and being centered in who they are and how they show up in the world.

While I will teach students different drawing techniques, I will also apply a few project based learning concepts for students to reflect on real issues and ideas based on their grade level. This it to build on their critical thinking skills and to consider their own, and others, perspective on the issue or concept.
The lesson plan will be catered towards the student's interest and learning style to keep them engaged in their learning. I will be providing visual materials, quizzes, and projects, to ensure that the student is actively learning and applying what they learn to their art.
The overarching goal for the student is being able to reflect on themselves, their own, and others perspectives and conveying their own overall perspective into their artwork.
These lessons are for children from 1st to 6th grade.
