About Taylor

I've been there. I was once at the bottom of my class, but I've also been a top 5% student. I've tried focusing only on school, and I've tried juggling with 10 other extracurricular activities. No matter where you stand academically, I know what you might be struggling with. Whether you are trying to improve your grades, study more efficiently, or excel and learn beyond what's provided at school, I am here to help. I am not here to tell you what to do or what's the best. I am here to work with you so you can be where you want to be.

About the lesson

I focus on helping students find their own learning style. There is no single method that works for everyone. I typically start of by learning about how my students normally study and how they approach different problems. I also learn about their goals because studying to pass versus studying for 100%requires different techniques and focuses. I don't believe in practice makes perfect. I believe if you understand the concepts, minimal practice and memorization can take you a very long way. I use practice problems as diagnostic tools, test style familiarization tools, memory consolidation tools, and confidence building tools.
If you think biology is all about memorization, I am here to introduce a new way of studying. I will help you make sense of concepts so isolated pieces of knowledge are connected. You will be able to go from doing flashcards everyday to being ready for exams after going through lecture slides twice.
