About Damiano

I believe that studying for oneself is perfectly useless. It can be rewarding, but, in the long run, sterile.
This is why I have always tried to include the problems and solutions of philosophy in public debates, in lectures and in conversations with friends. It would be a mistake, however, to consider philosophy a useless subject, suitable only for self-referential reasoning. On the contrary, if done well, it "opens the mind". But what does it mean? Which allows those who study it to rise from the microscopic point of view and take a general look; this not to be superior to others, but to always offer new perspectives and, consequently, innovative solutions.

After graduating from the Liceo Classico I decided to follow my vocation and so I enrolled in the Faculty of Philosophy and Communication at the University of Eastern Piedmont. The choice was the right one (I graduated in time with a grade of 110 with honors and mention), but I think it is healthy to change environments and stimuli, so I move to Milan, to the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where I earn my degree with full marks. During the master's degree, however, I do not limit myself to the study of philosophy, but I also dedicate myself to subjects relating to the field of law, geopolitics and psychology.
Throughout all the years I have also obtained sufficient credits for teaching history in high schools.
Alongside my university career, I have always cultivated a social and civil commitment to associations, with the aim of activating young people on civic education and requalification projects.
I am passionate about books, technologies and food.

I combine the knowledge of the subject, in its various forms, with the animative and educational techniques developed in social volunteering.
This allows me to conceive philosophy not only as a subject of study, but also as a hatred of critical thinking, reasoned discernment and autonomy. The integral reading of the fundamental texts of the history of Western philosophy, addressed for the university exams (always passed with the highest marks), gives me the opportunity to offer a general framework, placing the author's thought within his biography. and the socio-political context of reference.
The lessons will, of course, be calibrated according to the needs and inclinations of the student. We will adhere to the explanations and study requested by the curricular teacher, but will integrate the information that the current school system, due to its structure, cannot provide.
Alongside the explanations, however, the student will be invited to actively intervene, ask unresolved issues and, if necessary, repeat fundamental concepts. If it is true that these indications are valid for every subject, they are particularly suitable for philosophy, where study and reasoning are in no way separable.
