I'm John, a dedicated math tutor passionate about helping students succeed. I hold a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New York University and have over a year of tutoring experience, specializing in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics. I’ve successfully worked with students ranging from elementary to college level, helping them improve their grades and build confidence in their math skills. I emphasize understanding the underlying concepts rather than just memorizing formulas. Also, I encourage questions and interactive discussions to keep students engaged and to foster critical thinking. This can involve collaborative problem-solving or real-world applications of math.
My typical lesson plan is:
1. Warm-Up with a quick review (5-10mins)
2. Introduction of new material (15-20mins)
3. Guided practice (15-20mins)
4. Independent practice (10-15mins)
5. Review & assign home practice(5-10mins)
