About Mayka

As I have said, I am a graduate in English Studies and I am passionate about languages, especially English. I like to create a healthy, calm, respectful, and "good vibes" environment in my classes so that my students don't feel self-conscious and can expose their doubts to me and make mistakes without fear, because that's how you learn. Also, I love "geeky" topics, something we can use to practice speaking by talking about a hobby or topic that you like or are passionate about. The same happens with writing and listening, because I like that my students also propose themes and songs with which I can work and practice English, which is what it is all about, after all.

About the lesson

I like to use interactive and entertaining pages to practice vocabulary and grammar. For the writing, on many occasions I give my students the option to choose the topic they want to write about, and something similar happens with the listening, because I like to ask them to tell me their favorite English-speaking artists to give them listening exercises with their songs. As for speaking, I can dedicate a part of the class to speaking in English about some attractive topic that is of interest to the student, if they so wish. I am quite a music lover and movie buff, especially in the fantasy and science-fiction genres, so we can have many interesting topics of conversation. As for the level, I can teach both Primary and ESO children, as well as Baccalaureate students who are preparing for Selectividad, in which case I focus on reinforcing (or leveling) the base that the student has acquired in ESO, teaching new concepts and topics that you will need later, and practice exams with the selectivity model. As for teaching adults, I can also help anyone who wants to get a little closer to a language as wonderful as English. No matter what level you have, with patience and practice, you will be able to master the language much better.
