About Karissa
I have been giving lessons for a little over a year now. I originally started as a Life Sciences Mentor with Arizona State University, that required me to instruct and help transition twenty incoming freshman into their college careers. I was able to aid them in their course content and answer their questions in regards to their classes by holding study sessions, etc. These students, when giving their semester reviews, were very appreciative of my help and stated that my input was valuable.
I currently help students, when I can, by offering my services online or in person.

I am a recently accepted graduate student at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in Downtown Phoenix in the hope to pursue my Doctor of Pharmacy degree. I just recently received my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with Arizona State University and graduated within three and a half years along with Summa Cum Laude academic honors. As an undergraduate student I worked with large research organizations like the National Science Foundation and was able to present works at conferences held at institutes like UC Berkeley.
In regards to my teaching methodology, I am a very kind and patient individual that hardly likes to put pressure on anyone who is trying to take the time to learn a specific subject. Everyone learns differently and I try to identify, first, how that student approaches a problem and work with them by breaking the subject down into pieces that makes them able to understand the major concepts. With subjects like biology and chemistry, they are constructed on small principles, that once understood, makes the harder or larger concepts easier to understand.
