About María Alejandra

I am a graduate of the career of Design and Visual Communication (Specialty in Illustration) of the UNAM, I have experience doing character design, environments and script for various manga projects.

I have knowledge of Art History, comics, knowledge of composition for illustration and script development for comic and graphic novel in 3 different models. The most common of the medium.

I am also a reader of the genre in various media, both local and foreign, and I have experience teaching people of all ages, especially middle school and high school kids, in different subjects.

About the lesson

My method is to adapt to your ideas and your projects to unify your strengths and improve your weaknesses to create a sustainable work process that allows you to have the tools to create your own manga project, with a technical and narrative style appropriate to your intention, personality and level.

Manga is a very popular medium in Mexico, but creating a story is much more than drawing stylized figures with big eyes. A good story has many elements that must be polished to form an attractive project. Each aspect of the development is important, brainstorming, character design, the composition of the vignettes, graphic style, use of screening or colors, page design, sequentiality, rhythm, script, storyboard, self-criticism, general culture, management of social networks and specialized software.

Each of the things mentioned above can help or complicate the process of creating a manga and each of them can be improved and adapted to your level while you create your own story.

A manga is more than just a drawing, and while this is important, it is impossible to maintain the interest of readers if your story is bad or your text is impossible to read. But there is no problem that can not be corrected with planning and care.
