About Nicole
I have worked in public education for nearly 20 years. It is extremely important to me to make future readers of all students that I tutor. College is not the avenue for all learners, but reading will be involved in whatever path students take. I also believe that I can support the needs of parents who might have concerns with their students' struggles surrounding reading concerns.

I am trained and certified in WIDA, Word Study, Fountas and Pinnell, and DRA testing modules. My lessons will always incorporate a read-aloud piece. They will incorporate questions about text-to-text connections, text-to-self connections, and text to environment discussion questions. Vocabulary from stories will be incorporated into pictures so fee life incorporations can be made. Spelling will be taught through Word Study technique to ensure that all children learn how and why words in English are spelled the way they are. Running records will be given periodically to gauge the students reading and comprehension levels.
