As a peer tutor, Carmen helped me grasp concepts in Organic Chemistry and Physics. She was extremely kind and patient. By using analogies and showing us her own made up problems, she helped me and other classmates learn the strategies to complete practice questions, study guide questions, and eventually the exam questions. She is willing to go over concepts multiple times until they are understood. Her positive attitude kept drawing me back to her specifically as I never felt discouraged or judged. She preps before her lessons by reviewing her notes and our class lessons so she is always knowledgable about relevant topics. She made these difficult classes not only understandable but also fun to take!

In highschool, Carmen played a crucial role in my academic journey when it came to STEM subjects like maths and science. She simplified complex concepts, breaking them down into simpler parts that I could easily grasp. I was quite weak in those 2 subjects, however Carmen's dedication and patience were evident in the countless hours she spent working through problems with me, explaining theories and providing real-world examples to help me understand the subjects better.
