About Grace
My name is Grace and I am studying graduate entry medicine after graduating from University of Nottingham with a degree in Medical Physiology BSc Hons.
I want to tutor because at school I often felt like I was not naturally smart like everyone else and was therefore not capable of getting high grades. However it was actually my own tutor who helped me realise everyone learns in different ways. I have now gone on to finish my first degrees and now study medicine, and more importantly actually enjoy learning! I also have experience teaching from working as a swimming coach for seven years.

As a medical student who has been through what feels like constant exam seasons since leaving school, I’ve developed effective and realistic strategies to help make difficult concepts stick.
Through studying medicine, I’ve learned how to break down complex topics into simple, understandable ideas, and how to revise in a way that actually leads to quick results.
A key focus of a typical session involves active recall. I find it useful to start by understanding what you already know and build from there.
This could include:
- quick fire flashcards
- recap what we did last session
- discuss what you learnt at school
Sessions are fully tailored to your goals. For example, we can focus on specific topics you’ve struggled with that week, or go through past paper questions to identify areas you find particularly challenging.
Rather than just going over content passively, we would use questions (spec specific) to practise applying knowledge, learn how to structure answers, and understand what examiners are really looking for. I’ve also recently been supporting my brother through his A-levels (Chem, Bio, Philosophy), so I’m very familiar with the current curriculum and the level of understanding required.
I am able to adapt my teaching style to suit different learners and explain things in a clear, relatable way. I have over seven years teaching experience where I taught 1 on 1 swimming lessons to children with SEND.
I aim to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable asking absolutely any questions, while also encouraging consistency and good study habits between sessions. Overall, the goal is to make tricky topics far easier (and maybe even a little enjoyable)!
I’m flexible with session length and can tutor students of all ages up to A-level, including support with revision planning, exam preparation, and improving overall study techniques.

I highly recommend Grace as a tutor. I know her through working together and have seen first-hand how dedicated and supportive she is with her students. She has a really clear way of explaining things, making even difficult topics feel manageable and easy to understand.
One thing I really appreciate about Grace is her patience and the way she builds students’ confidence. She always takes the time to make sure everything is fully understood and never rushes the learning process.
Overall, Grace is reliable, encouraging and genuinely cares about helping her students succeed. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a supportive and effective tutor.Grace is fantastic, patient and has a really thoughtful approach to teaching. I felt comfortable around her which made it easy for us to communicate and hence boosted my learning. I wouldn't have done as well as I did in my exams without Grace!
Grace is an extremely knowledgeable and kind person to have as a tutor.
Grace is a brilliant teacher and tutored me for my biology. She made everything easy to understand and her confidence with different approaches to learning helped me find what suited me best!
