About Mack
I’m an undergraduate at the University of Manchester studying Geography, specialising in GIS. Alongside this, I’ve always been a humanities enthusiast, having studied Geography, Psychology, and Sociology at both GCSE and A-Level, achieving A*AA. All my lessons are taught remotely! Hope that's okay. I know what it’s like to struggle: in Year 9 and 10 I found these subjects tough and didn’t always feel confident. But with focus, good study strategies, and practice, I turned things around, achieved strong GCSEs, and went on to specialise at A-Level and now at university. Because I’ve been through that journey, I really understand how challenging it can feel at times, and I want to provide the guidance and encouragement that makes the difference. My approach is friendly, patient, and structured around the exam — so students not only learn the content but also gain the confidence to apply it in their assessments.

How my lessons will look! 1. Quick Check-In (5 mins) See how the student’s week has been, what they’re struggling with, and set the focus for the lesson. 2. Core Content Review (15–20 mins) Go over key topics in the subject Assessing diagrams, examples, or case studies. Link content to real-world contexts so it feels relevant. 3. Mark Scheme Breakdown (10 mins) Walk through how examiners think: highlight keywords like ‘evaluate’, ‘assess’, ‘discuss’ in each question Show what the difference is between a Level 2 vs. Level 3 answer. Help students “decode” what the question is really asking. 4. Practice Paper Focus (20–25 mins) Work through past paper questions, either live together or ones they’ve attempted before. Model a top-band answer, then guide them to build their own. Show how to structure essays (introduction, argument, conclusion). Use “live marking” against the mark scheme so they see how points are awarded. 5. Wrap-Up & Homework (5 mins) Summarise key takeaways. Set a short targeted task (e.g. one 12-mark question or case study flashcards).
