About Agnes

I’m a UX and product designer, educator and design practitioner with more than 10 years of professional experience across UX, UI, visual design and digital learning.

I have taught Design, Media and ICT in higher education and have worked with students from a range of backgrounds and skill levels. My professional design experience includes digital products, design systems, information architecture, user research, interaction design and visual communication.

I bring real industry experience into my tutoring, while keeping lessons focused on the student's own goals and level. Whether you are working on a university assignment, building a portfolio, learning UX or UI, developing a game concept, or improving your typography and visual design skills, I can help you develop both the practical skills and the design judgment behind your work.

I’m particularly interested in helping students who have ideas but aren't quite sure how to turn them into a clear, considered design.

About the lesson

I take a practical, supportive approach to tutoring, helping students understand the thinking behind good design rather than simply showing them which tools to use.

My lessons are tailored to the student's level, goals and current project. We might work through a design problem together, review an existing project, develop ideas, improve a user flow or interface, explore typography and visual hierarchy, or prepare a design portfolio or assignment.

I encourage students to explain their decisions and test their thinking. My role is to ask the right questions, provide constructive feedback and help them develop their own design judgement rather than designing the work for them.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with longer sessions available when a student is working through a substantial project.

I have more than 10 years of professional experience across UX, product design, visual design and digital learning, as well as experience teaching design, media and ICT in higher education. I have worked with both students and professional teams, including projects involving digital products, design systems, AI and safety-critical interfaces.

My lessons are suitable for university and TAFE students, emerging designers, career changers and anyone building their skills in UX, UI, game design or typography.
