About Sonya
I am a fun and committed English teacher who loves to personalise lessons to my students. I have worked as a private tutor to international students in the UK, as well as in UK schools.
I have also had a successful career as a marketing consultant and a senior manager, working in business sectors such as fashion, retail, hospitality and the NGO sector.
I hold a CELTA qualification, certified by Cambridge University. I also completed a Diploma in Marketing and Digital Strategy with the British Chartered Institute of Marketing. I graduated with an MSc in Global Health from the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, and a BA(Hons) in International Development from the University of Sussex.

With each new student, I complete an analysis to understand what they want to achieve and how we can do that together.
I take a student-centred approach so that my students are actively engaged in their own learning as much as possible. This, along with error correction and lots of speaking practice, speeds up the accuracy of fluency of students' English.
