About Margaret
I qualified with a BEd (Foundation Phase) from WITS University in 2011. I have been in the classroom ever since. 13 years later I have taken a step back from full-time teaching to focus on my family. I am a mom of two children. This, however, does not stop my passion for teaching. I do still have a love for children and helping learners overcome their challenges. My teaching approach is one of moving - a strong belief in learning through doing/playing.

What sets me apart is a strong emphasis on clarity, structure, and real-life application. I break down difficult concepts into manageable steps, visual aids, and interactive tools where appropriate. My sessions are engaging, paced to suit the learner, and always encourage active participation. I also focus on metacognitive strategies, helping students understand how they learn best so they can become more independent over time. I believe learning should be an empowering experience, not just about passing tests. That’s why I take time to connect with students, understand their challenges, and support them beyond the lesson itself when needed (e.g., by providing revision plans or feedback on independent work). I have over 10 years full-time teaching where I did not have less than 24 children at a time. I want to help learners that are struggling with phonics, reading and mathematics skills.
