About Jade
Hello! I am a teacher with a passion for literacy who is hoping to support students with their individual learning needs! I have my B.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee and have spent four years working in the classroom with students (primarily Pre-K through 8th grade). My background in formal education has given me a thorough understanding of what teachers and test makers are looking for as well as an abundance of strategies to effectively teach literacy skills.

Hello! I am a passionate teacher with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee and four years of classroom experience.
This means that I am prepared to offer a professional level of feedback and support for all of your language arts needs. I believe that the most effective teaching happens when we jump right into the work, so my favorite ways to build skills with students always begin with assessing what your current skill level is.
If you choose my services for creative writing or essay writing, you can expect that a session will begin with us reviewing some of your writing together and discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the piece. We will then brainstorm some ways we can improve your writing skills and best practices for your genre. We can conduct a rubric walkthrough and explanation as well if you have one. I find that this really helps students understand what a teacher is looking for and learn to write clearly and confidently!
If you utilize my literacy and reading tutoring services, we will often start with a read aloud and practice some strategies for retaining information from the text (modeling good reader thought processes, expanding on phrases, reading between the lines, etc).
