About Poh Ling

Ex- Ministry of Education (Singapore) teacher with a Post- Graduate Diploma in Education (Art) from the National Institute of Education in Singapore. Taught in primary, secondary and junior college for 9 years, from government to autonomous schools recognized in value-added academic performances.

Helps mentees develop their ideas into artworks that resonate with the audience. Led college student to win the prestigious 31st UOB Painting of the Year Most Promising Young Artist Award.
Personally, I have also won numerous awards for paintings & photography.

Obtained Grade A in GCE A-level (Art Elective Program; Nanyang Junior College) & Bachelor of Fine Art (Digital Imaging & Photography; 2nd Upper) from the School of Art, Design & Media, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).

Hence, I’m experienced with both traditional media like drawing, painting etc & new media like photography, digital painting etc which are essential skills to help mentees create compositions that are unique to them.

About the lesson

Focuses on guiding students above 11 years old for 2-Dimensional art & writing: especially
1) portfolio preparation for undergraduate art university (local/international) admission,
2) International Baccalaureate,
3) GCE Cambridge N(A) Level,
4) Cambridge coursework guidance,
5) (3 hour) drawing & painting for O-level
6) competitions
7) art interviews etc.

Local lessons in Singapore to be held at my home-studio/ co working space where mentees can have complimentary access to scanner, Photoshop for image manipulation, pen tablet, photography lighting etc that can help to advance their art. Field trips or lessons at mentees’ home can be arranged if they are beneficial to their learning, eg. to guide mentees to photograph creatively in familial setting so that they can be used in their art.
