About Selina

I am currently pursuing an LLB (Year 1) undergraduate degree at City, University of London, with a strong interest in exploring different areas of law, legal research, and trial advocacy. I regularly participate in mooting competitions, including internal moots and scholar-level moots, which have strengthened my analytical reasoning, oral advocacy, and confidence in presenting legal arguments. I am actively involved in extra-curricular and networking activities within the legal field, allowing me to engage with practitioners and deepen my understanding of how law operates in practice and shapes society. Before university, I studied A-Level Law and achieved an A in my final exams. This experience helped build my foundational knowledge of core legal topics, especially in areas such as Criminal Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, and the English Legal System. My interests particularly extend to topics such as the principles of causation, the chain of causation, foreseeability, mens rea and actus reus in criminal liability, as well as contractual concepts like misrepresentation, terms, breach, and remedies. Alongside academic study, I also enjoy the practical side of legal education, including preparing for moots, drafting skeleton arguments, and understanding how legal bundles are structured. Through attending legal events and networking sessions, I continue to broaden my insight into the profession and develop my skills as an aspiring advocate.

I am currently pursuing an LLB (Year 1) undergraduate degree at City, University of London, with a strong interest in exploring different areas of law, legal research, and trial advocacy, including mooting competitions. As a first-year law student, I am actively taking part in extra-curricular, networking, and legal activities to deepen my understanding of how law shapes society. In sixth form, A-Level Law was one of my chosen subjects, and I achieved an A in my final exams. Although I have not taught formally before, I am confident in communicating legal concepts clearly and effectively, and I always aim to make my lessons engaging. Alongside the academic elements of legal studies, I can also teach the practical side of law—such as how moots work, how to build skeleton arguments and bundles, and insights from legal events and networking sessions I have attended. The legal topics I will be focusing on mainly include the English Legal System, Criminal Law, Tort Law, and Contract Law. My teaching style involves first explaining the legal topic in depth, ensuring we analyse key cases thoroughly, and then working through practice questions together to consolidate understanding. Since all students learn differently, I aim to tailor each lesson to their specific needs to ensure our sessions are efficient, productive, and engaging. It is important to me that the structure of every lesson supports the student’s goals and learning style. I teach Law to all students, including A-Level learners, adults, or anyone wishing to develop a strong foundation in the basics of law. My teaching covers key areas such as the English Legal System, Criminal Law, Contract Law, and Tort Law. I usually prefer to explain each legal topic in depth, explore different cases, and analyse them thoroughly. After that, I can quiz students, create practice questions for us to work through, or complete past papers together. This helps students apply what they have learned with clarity and confidence.
