About Ana
Hello! I am a First-Class Mathematics graduate from the University of Bristol and an alumna of The Henrietta Barnett School, one of the top-ranking academic grammar schools in the UK. Having achieved A*s and As across 5 A-Level subjects, my own academic journey has given me a deep appreciation for the dedication required to excel at a high level.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in curiosity and empowerment. Too often, mathematics is presented as a rigid list of rules to memorise under exam pressure. I view maths as an interconnected framework for creative problem-solving, and I encourage my students to actively "play" with concepts to build genuine intuition.
I understand the pressure of high-stakes exams, and my goal is to provide a patient, structured, and encouraging environment where you feel fully supported to reach your potential. I look forward to working together!

My lessons are 60 to 90 minutes long and focus on practical exam preparation for 11+, GCSE, and A-Level Mathematics. Each session begins with a review of recent homework or practice papers to pinpoint specific knowledge gaps and address recurring mistakes. I then explain difficult topics using clear alternative methods and visual step-by-step logic, ensuring students understand the underlying principles rather than relying on rote memorisation. Finally, we work directly through real exam questions to master mark schemes, improve time management, and build confidence under exam conditions. Every session is fully customised to the student's current curriculum and target grade, with clear guidance provided on progress and independent study.
During my private A-Level tutoring experience, this approach helped a student raise their predicted grade from a C to an A over a 10-month period. Combined with my bilingual background, I excel at adapting strategies for learners at varying confidence and fluency levels.
