About Em

I'm an experienced writer and tutor, and I recently completed my Masters of Fine Art in Creative Writing. I take a very student-centric approach in my lessons, with confidence-building and enjoyment as my main focus. I have a lot of awareness around different styles of learning, so while I do come prepared with lesson plans and pathways I'm always aiming to keep things adaptable and accessible.

About the lesson

I take an easygoing approach, aiming to maximise confidence and help students find their voice. Words are for everyone, and there's no one set way to enjoy reading and writing. It's just about finding what works for you! I can help with reading comprehension, exam prep, grammar and spelling, finding fun ways to get through the nitty-gritty parts. I can also help with broader elements like developing a creative practice for storytelling, or learning how to carry out a close reading of a text to understand its themes. No question too big or too small!
