About Luke
I am a 23-year-old math graduate living in Dublin, holding a First Class Honors degree in Mathematical Sciences from TU Dublin. I achieved a H1 in Leaving Cert Math and have over 5 years’ experience providing grinds to Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students.
Alongside tutoring, I worked as an Actuarial trainee at Zurich Life, where strong analytical thinking and precision were essential. I bring that same structured, clear approach into every lesson, with a focus on understanding, confidence and exam performance.

My lessons are highly practical and focused on learning through doing. Maths is a skill, not a theory subject, so sessions are built around worked questions, repetition and clear problem-solving rather than long explanations.
For students at Junior Cycle or those finding maths difficult, the focus is on the “low-hanging fruit” — mastering algebra, formula manipulation and core skills that underpin almost every topic in maths. Building this foundation is essential for confidence and long-term improvement.
For students aiming for a H1 or H2, lessons shift towards quality over quantity. We may only work through one or two questions in detail, but each is fully broken down so the student understands why each step is taken and feels confident tackling harder exam questions independently.
For exam-year students, I also focus on exam technique and how to maximise marks using the marking scheme, ensuring no easy marks are left behind.
All lessons are delivered online via Zoom and are tailored to the student’s level and goals.
