About Summaiya
I'm Summaiya, a final-year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Manchester. I know what it feels like to sit in a class and nod along while secretly not understanding anything and I know the relief when something finally clicks. That gap between confusion and clarity is exactly where I want to help.
I don't tutor because I find it easy to explain things. I tutor because I remember what it was like to find them hard. That makes me patient in a way that not everyone is.
I chose Engineering because I love problem solving - breaking something complicated down until it makes sense. That's the same approach I bring to every session. We don't move on until it makes sense to you.
If you're struggling, falling behind, or just want to get ahead - I'm here to help you get there, at your pace, without judgement.

I'm a final-year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Manchester, specialising in Maths, Chemistry and Psychology up to A-level, as well as first-year university modules such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and mass balances.
I believe the best tutoring happens when a student actually understands the logic behind something - not just memorises it. A lot of students struggle not because the subject is too hard, but because nobody has explained it in a way that clicked for them. That's what I focus on.
My sessions are relaxed but focused. I start by finding out exactly where a student is struggling, then work through it step by step at their pace. I don't rush through content just to cover it - I'd rather a student leaves one session genuinely understanding one topic than feeling overwhelmed by five.
I have experience supporting first-year students through A-level Maths during college, and have volunteered tutoring internationally. I'm comfortable working through past papers, breaking down specific topics, or building exam technique depending on what the student needs most. I'm familiar with the main UK exam boards including AQA, OCR and Edexcel.
Outside of tutoring, I'm currently studying for the CFA qualification, which means I'm very much in the mindset of learning difficult material efficiently - something I bring into my sessions.
I also speak fluent Urdu, so I'm happy to tutor or communicate with families in Urdu if that's more comfortable.
