About Dhrusti
I have successfully finished A-Levels in Edxecel Maths, Edexcel Biology, and OCR Chemistry. I am a sociable person who enjoys mentoring.
I have been tutoring for the last two years. My students have moved up in their class sets and have achieved level 9 in their GCSEs after being predicted a level 7.
My mentoring roles in the past has helped me effectively communicate complex processes and simply large amounts of text. As part of being involved in student leadership, I had initiated tutoring sessions for lower years. I had to change my style of teaching depending on the student.
I have tutored around 20 GCSE students as part of these sessions and am currently tutoring AQA GCSE and A-level chemistry.

Chemistry contains many complex processes and concepts that can be difficult to grasp. When completing my A levels, I found that there was a great jump from GCSE to A level in terms of content and exam questions. However, there were a series of revision and learning techniques that I used that made understanding the subject a lot easier which like to share with my tutees.
For chemical processes and concepts, I like to use visual aids and diagrams to help breakdown large texts into simpler language that can be understood in a better way. Certain processes can be explained by making them into small stories or key bullet points and flow charts. Also, I have typed up notes for A level students studying the OCR exam board as well as helpful resources that can be used for practice. This is usually during the learning phase of the tutoring sessions.
After a topic has been completed, I like to use past papers and exam-style questions to assess student knowledge. I have been told by my tutees that they find this useful as they are able to see repeated patterns in questions that have come up previously. This is done during the revision phase of the tutoring session.
I believe that any student can excel in science if it presented and taught in a language that is understood by the student. Every brain works differently and not all children can learn with the same method of teaching. By providing 1:1 tutoring, I have learned different methods of teaching that can be tailored to each student and their needs.
