Good writing comes through craft, but it doesn't have to be a solo journey. After five years in the industry, earning my MFA at Texas State, and seeing various writing projects from ideation to publication, I spent years teaching composition at institutions like Temple, Drexel, and CUNY. My favorite part of the job wasn’t the lecturing—it was the breakthrough moments during one-on-one office hours.

I specialize in helping writers transform big ideas and raw drafts into polished, high-impact prose. My approach is rooted in the same "workshop" style I used with my MFA students: rigorous, insightful, and entirely focused on your goals.

About the lesson

As a former professor of rhetoric and composition with an MFA in Creative Writing, I specialize in a "dual-track" approach. My goal is to help you hit every technical requirement of your project while ensuring your unique personality shines through the prose. We’ll calibrate our focus as we go, balancing the "rules" of the assignment with the spark of creative self-expression.
