About Kaleigh
Hi, I’m Kaleigh Kabatoff, a Therapeutic Recreation student at Dalhousie University with a strong passion for education, communication, and helping others succeed. I have several years of experience working with children and youth through teaching, lifeguarding, and recreation programs, which has taught me how to connect with learners of all ages and make lessons engaging and supportive. I’m a patient, organized, and encouraging tutor who truly enjoys helping students reach their goals. My background in recreation and health has given me a unique understanding of how people learn differently, and I always strive to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident to ask questions and grow at their own pace. Whether I’m helping someone improve their writing, prepare for school assignments, or simply gain more confidence speaking English, I always aim to make learning enjoyable and meaningful.

Hi, I’m Kaleigh, and my English lessons focus on building confidence, understanding, and a genuine enjoyment of learning. I believe that when students feel supported and engaged, they do their best work, so my sessions are relaxed, interactive, and personalized to each learner’s goals.
My teaching approach combines structure and creativity. I use clear explanations, real-life examples, and step-by-step guidance to help students strengthen their grammar, writing, and speaking skills. I also include activities that encourage critical thinking and self-expression, such as short writing prompts, reading discussions, and practical communication exercises.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing the previous topic or assignment, followed by focused practice in the area the student wants to improve, such as essay writing, vocabulary, or conversation fluency. Each session ends with a short reflection or takeaway to reinforce learning and track progress.
What sets me apart is my background in Therapeutic Recreation, which has taught me how to adapt lessons for different learning styles and support students with diverse needs. My goal is to make English learning positive, inclusive, and empowering for all students, whether you are developing foundational skills, improving academic performance, or building everyday communication confidence.
