About Rupeshika

I’m Rupeshika, a passionate educator, English language tutor, and lifelong learner. I hold a BA (Hons) in Teaching English as a Second Language and am currently studying for a Master of Education at the University of Auckland. My background includes teaching at university level in Sri Lanka, and now tutoring students from diverse schools across New Zealand. Teaching is more than a profession to me, it’s a way to empower others. I love seeing students grow in confidence and use language to connect, express themselves, and succeed in their goals. As someone who has studied and taught English in multicultural settings, I understand the unique challenges language learners face. That’s why I’m committed to making my lessons inclusive, engaging, and tailored to your needs. Outside of teaching, I’m a tennis player and a children’s illustrator. These creative and active parts of my life help me bring energy, creativity, and a balanced perspective into my teaching. I believe learning should be enjoyable and meaningful, just like a good game or a great story. About the lesson

My tutoring approach is student-centered, flexible, and culturally responsive. I believe that every learner is unique, so I design each lesson to suit the student’s individual goals, language background, and learning style. My lessons focus on building confidence and practical language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I use a variety of techniques such as interactive conversations, scaffolded reading and writing tasks, vocabulary-building activities, grammar support, and real-life scenarios to make learning both effective and engaging. I also integrate visual aids, games, and technology when appropriate to enhance understanding and retention. Each session typically runs for 60 minutes, but this can be adjusted depending on the learner’s age, needs, and preferences. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Teaching English as a Second Language and am currently completing my Master of Education at the University of Auckland. I have worked as an Assistant Lecturer in English at a leading state university in Sri Lanka and currently tutor students from various schools across New Zealand. My lessons are suitable for learners of all ages and levels, including school students, young adults, and adult learners who speak English as a second or additional language. Whether you're just starting out or looking to improve your academic or conversational English, I’m here to support your language journey every step of the way.
