About Diane
Out of my professional acting and directing work in San Diego I was hired by the California Young Playwrights Association as a K-12 teacher, I received an Artist in Residence grant at a Magnet school in northern San Diego to create a Theatre program for K-6 ESL students. I've worked at San Diego State, Korean National University of the Arts, in juvenile detention centers, teenage oncology wards and the Kumeyaay Native American reservations emergency youth shelters. From there I moved back East and started adjunct, and then tenured universities.
I am a RT 200 Vinyasa certified teacher.
I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre
I am a level 3 certified Reiki practitioner
I have been teaching for 25 years at various universities here and in 7 foreign countries
I an a Professor Emeritus at Towson University

I take my work directly from where the student/s re. Therefore I usually begin with some questions about their experiences, goals, expectations and, if any, physical difficulties. From there we wade gently into the practice to see how the student actually sits in their own body/mind practice. By the end of the first assessment session, subsequent sessions may be based on the edge of the students' capabilities and grow from there.
All age ranges, from 5-70 years of age. All capabilities from novice through expert, and in international festivals and conferences as well as mainly at college-level screened BFA acting students, as well as teaching yoga at fitness clubs.
Make sure any yoga teacher is certified through a reputable teacher training program. Don't be afraid to ask questions of the teacher. Ask about their teaching experiences, as well as what this person has done to maintain their expertise in the areas you're interested in. Read the teacher's complete profile -- make sure it's a good fit for you.
2 particular students stand out: 2 mid-aged men. One is a novice in yoga who meets me in my home studio and has goals of increased flexibility, balance and strength. The other gentleman is a meditation student in Baltimore who takes 90 minute sessions. He has a past practice of yoga and meditation, but feels he needs the structure of regular guided sessions of various types of meditation in order to create a more structured and personalized home practice.

Some small differences in price may depend on the distance I must commute to the student, as well as number of students, my starting rate is $90 per hour (1 1/2 hour sessions are also available starting at $135 per session.
