About Melvyn
These classes take students back to what it means to be in union with body, mind, spirit, and collective consciousness. It is love-based and can be modified for any and EVERY body.
As a Black nonbinary individual existing in a western world and having experienced mental and spiritual turmoil, I did not see many people like me learning and living yoga and meditation. I am able to provide a unique perspective for others and show them that the answers we seek have always been inside us.
I have received my Meditation Teacher Certification Level 1 through Yogamu School and currently working on my 200-hr Yoga Instructor Certification. I will continuously be learning new and older practices in order provide a full spectrum of spiritual wellness services.
This work allows me to share the love and joy that is harnessed through inner work and healing. I have found peace and joy within me and hope to inspire others to find it in themselves as well.
I have been a student of meditation for over a decade. My path lead me through this journey in seeing the state of the world and the suffering of our people. I worked for community organizing groups and then city government and realized that the best way for me to help the world is from inside of each person.

The first step will be discussing the student's needs- what do you hope to gain (or lose) from this experience? Do you have health concerns that I should know about? If there are any needs to adapt to, we can work on it together. From there we can devise a plan that works for the individual or group.
When looking for a meditation teacher, I am a firm believer that their practice should be based in love and healing. If they are telling you to breathe in love and breathe out pain, then perhaps you should reevaluate!

The meditation left me focused and at ease. De Miel’s soothing and comforting voice is like a breath of fresh air. This meditation has become a part of my every day routine.
Pleasant voice; small body exercises kept me from falling back to sleep; asked plenty of great questions for customization; meditation helped me learn a little about myself.
