About Monica

Although I do fall in line with the usual stillness and quiet focus that is common to Yoga, I also like to keep it not-too-serious leaving us room to laugh or smile thoughout class. I am adept at working with all skill levels and like to encourage everyone to be comfortable with themselves and where they are in their practice each day.

I absolutely LOVE sharing the joy of Yoga with others. It is so satisfying to help people recognize the benefits and begin to transform their bodies and minds.

I began practicing Yoga over 8 years ago when I was having repeated back problems and had read about the many benefits of Yoga. I fell in love with everything about Yoga and it easily became a regular part of my life. I received my 200 hour certification 4 years ago from Sunstone Academy in Addison, TX so I could deepen my own practice and begin to share the awesome benefits of Yoga with others. I enjoy continuing to learn and grow my own practice as I also help others do the same.

About the lesson

I like to start with a short questionnaire for the student to fill out that gives me an idea of what they are hoping to achieve, their current fitness level and experience, and any medical or other concerns. This allows me to provide each student with what they need.

I have taught students with no Yoga experience to students who are more experienced than me. I am able to modify poses to fit each person's abilities and needs using props as needed or to challange the more experienced yogis to help them grow their practice.
